Robert C Nowinski's Short Bio

Dr. Robert Nowinski founded six highly successful biotech businesses is responsible for some of the most successful drugs on the market. Robert Nowinski subsequently brought 4 of these companies public through an IPO. Dr. Nowinski was the first employee in each company and also held the executive position(s) of CEO and/or the Chairman of the Board. In each business Robert Nowinski set the direction, acquired the initial technology, recruited key management and provided oversight for the research programs.

Dr. Robert Nowinski also conducted private and public financings of up to $130 million for each company. As proof of Dr. Robert Nowinski's success, major pharmaceutical companies have acquired three of the companies he founded. Bristol-Myers acquired Dr. Robert Nowinski’s Genetic Systems in 1987 for $310 million; Chiron/Novartis bought PathoGenesis in 2000 for $660 million; and Eli Lilly acquired Icos in 2006 for $2.2 billion. Collectively, Robert Nowinski’s companies have developed and marketed diagnostic tests and drugs with annual sales of more than $2.0 billion.
